WEEKEND SUMMER DIPS

WEEKEND SUMMER DIPS

It’s no secret that water can be incredibly healing and purifying not just for the body, but for the mind! Particularly in the depths of late Summer heat, quick road trip adventures revolving around bodies of water is a common pastime for us Calmer Sutra Tea folk. Lakes, rivers, beaches, freshwater swimming holes - you name it, we’ll take a dip in it.

When such road trips consist of good food, good people and good swimming, we can’t think of a better way to cool off during the weekends. So in true ‘Places We Swim’ fashion, we’ve compiled our favourite locations for Summer dips and must-see spots to visit along the way.

MOUNT MARTHA

This cute seaside town is an hour's drive from Melbourne with many holiday homes to stay in for a weekend.

SWIM The Pillars in Mount Martha

Literally roadside, this stunning swimming spot is otherworldly. For those seeking that adrenaline rush, cliff jump into the crystal clear turquoise waters below!

EAT Stop by The Providore for a post-swim fuel up and Iced Calmer Chai Latte. Your tummy and taste buds will thank you.

MOVE If sticking to land is more your thing, get the heart rate up on the Mount Martha Cliff Top Walk and be rewarded with epic views.

Yarra River Warrandyte

NORTH WARRANDYTE

A bushland lover’s paradise, retreat into North Warrandyte for a quiet weekend surrounded by nature.

SWIM Yarra River Linear Reserve - Koornong

'Swim in the Yarra, you say??' We know what you’re thinking! But trust us, morning swims in this hidden local spot will leave you feeling like a new person. This one is so off the grid, that you can’t find it on Google Maps.

But tucked away behind a small residential area a series of small riverside beaches that you can access off a car park off Koornong Crescent in North Warrandyte.

EAT Wander into town to have brekky any time of the day at The Stonehouse.

MOVE Then go on a few bush walks nearby at Warrandyte State Park, Jumping Creek Reserve or Pound Bend Reserve.

Point Roadknight Anglesea

ANGLESEA

A Surf Coast must-visit, this beachside town is one for the family.

SWIM Point Roadknight

A protected beach to explore rock pools or take the longboard out for some wave catching.

EAT Surfcoast Wholefoods in Torquay is the ultimate pit stop for healthy snacks, smoothies or one of our Calmer Chai lattes from the cafe.

DO The Otways is further down the Great Ocean Road but worth the drive. Chasing waterfalls won’t be hard to do, the Great Otway National Park is filled with them!

Merricks Creek Winery

MERRICKS

The Mornington Peninsula is prime vineyard territory! Mix up your weekend trip on the Western Port side with a little beach time, a little pampering and a little vino. Delightful!
